Well, since my last update was accidentally deleted in the change of posts, I figured it won't hurt to write another one. I'm in the midsts of booking myself a flight to Vegas to support Timberlake in all his endeavors and while I might look like the most underdressed person there, I think I've got my own style. Sure, Justin is putting out some kick ass jeans, but give me a pair of Levi's and a t-shirt and I am a happy man. I own plenty of Willy Rast jeans, hell, what friend wouldn't beam and be proud?
I am sitting in Denver, the puppy's head in my lap and am caught wondering where my head is these days. I'm not sleeping, which Justin is probably taking for granted in his late night conversations, but I wonder what's really keeping me up until I pass out. Is it uncertainty? Tour is next month and I have high expectations for myself as well as from others. I don't want to disappoint those that have had faith in me from the start and I certainly don't want to disappoint family or those that might as well be.
Have you ever taken a risk that terrified you, but so excited that you can't sleep, even when your body is telling you that you need to?
The un-American needs a personal Jesus, private insurance, an obedient wife. The un-American should really stop complaining, he ought to take a trip to Disney, get his head on right.

There is always going to be a hero. Now the actual idea behind the hero changes. He could be a young upstartTM or the jaded veteranTM or even the underdogTM. There will always be the girl, the childhood best friendTM, the one that got awayTM or the one he fell in love with instantlyTM. Then there are the villians of course, the maniacalTM, the jealousTM, or the arch-nemisis with a grudgeTM. Then there are the standard sidekickTM, mentorTM, and life altering momentTM.
Now why did I run through all of that? Because with a few exceptions, it seems every plot is the same. That's why as actors we want to push the boundaries on everything. No one wants to be just the hero or just the sidekick when there might be an opportunity to be so much more. Thats what I like about parodies, the chance to recognize that what we are presenting you isn't life changing or anything you haven't already seen. It's only meant to be entertainment. I think people like the predictability of movies even as much as they like the fantasy. People like knowing that in almost every case it will end up with a happy ending or riding off into the sunsetTM. That the couple will end up happily ever afterTM.
Now I am not going to knock the hand that feeds me by any means, even if it isn't doing much feeding me at the present moment. I've enjoyed not working as much as I possibly can without getting bored but it has given me a lot more time to watch movies and I've learned that the magic of movies is not lost on everyone, even those that have been behind the camera. I guess that is the magicTM of it all.
And they like the fantasy of it. The idea that as celebrities we live in a totally different world. It's a bit easier to get into parties and it's a bit easier to pay our bills, but at the end of the day we are actors because for a little while we want to live in the fantasy of it too.
